It can take a while for a large pot of water to come to a boil (this will be your pasta water), so prepare the sauce in the next steps while the water is heating. Add the ground beef and cook until it is lightly browned on all sides. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Meanwhile, in a large skillet or saucepan, combine ground beef, sausage, and garlic.

Instructions to make Lasagna:
  1. Brown italian sausage, onion, and mushrooms, add garlic salt
  2. When italian sausage is almost done, add pepperoni cook untill slightly crispy and italian sausage is brown.
  3. Add prego sauce to pan. Fill jar 1/3 way with water mix to get remaining sauce, add to pan and simmer until warm.
  4. Coat bottom of baking dish with a light spray of non stick spray.
  5. Add a very thin layer of sauce mix to coat bottom of pan
  6. Place layer of noodles down.
  7. Cover noodles with1/3 (depending on how many layers you want) package of ricotta cheese
  8. Spread 1/3 (depending on how many layers you want)of the sauce mixture over noodles and ricotta.
  9. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over sauce.
  10. Repeat steps 6-9 until you reach desired number of layers. I usually do 2 not counting the top.
  11. On the top layer, place noodles, cover with remaining sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  12. Cover pan with foil-tent foil
  13. Remove foil and broil on high until cheese is toasted.
  14. Bake at 350° for 45-60 min or until noodles are soft.
  15. Remove foil and broil on high until cheese is golden
  16. Let sit for 10-15 minutes.

Cook over medium-high heat until browned. Drain half the fat; less if you're feeling naughty. A homemade lasagna is a window into a person's soul. Okay, I'm being a bit dramatic.
